Weekend Escape | Laguna Beach, California

Laguna Beach boasts some of Southern California’s most beautiful coastline, so it’s no surprise that it also has some of the best beaches! Here are our recommendations for the best way to enjoy a day at the beach.

Main Beach

You won’t find a beach with a wider range of activities than Main Beach. It has a boardwalk, basketball and volleyball courts, a playground, picnic tables, and tide pools. Bring a picnic lunch and spend a leisurely day in the sand. Stay for sunset and we promise you’ll be impressed. Get directions.

Laguna Beach became the birthplace of skimboarding back in the 1920s when lifeguards used pieces of wood to skate across the shore. Since then, skimboarding has blossomed into a full-fledged sport. If you’re feeling adventurous, take lessons from Solag Skim School. You’ll be a pro in no time.

Pageant of the Masters | Laguna Beach, California

Laguna Beach is a gorgeous seaside town in Orange County, halfway between Los Angeles and San Diego. Spend a weekend exploring Laguna Beach’s famous art scene, then hit the beach for some time in the Southern California sun.

Don’t miss the Pageant of the Masters, a nearly two month long annual “living art” event that has been a Laguna Beach institution since 1933. Over 500 volunteers dress up to recreate famous paintings and sculptures. You’ll be impressed by the makeup, costumes, and lighting that make the paintings come alive. See it nightly in July and August.
