We wanted to go to Sea World and had seen they had packages. I called the hotel directly, got an excellent rate (equiv to $149/night considering it included two adult Sea World tickets and $9 off each of the kid tickets. I know 149 doesn't sound excellent, but for the area, it is. Hotel Circle is comparable and the beach is more. El Cajon is cheaper, but that would be pretty much the only pro there). The hotel is very picturesque, with separate red-roofed buildings at different levels and a water fountain with changing light colors outside of our room. We were in building three and were able to park in the parking garage and walk out directly onto the level where our room was.

We were very impressed with this hotel. The staff was very attentive to our needs, the room was nice and very clean and we loved the pool area (nice private large area with complimentary sun block). We also especially liked the restaurant... the food was excellent for breakfast! And the hotel lobby restroom is beautiful. Although we didn't use it, there is a free shuttle to Seaworld which would save on the parking fee of $12. We're quite particular about cleanliness of hotels and this one was great!

San Luis Obispo was our first stop on the Pacific Coast Highway route from Los Angeles to San Francisco. It's a pleasant town and the Mission is well worth a visit, but best of all was the delightful Garden Street Inn. It's a handsome Edwardian mansion with a welcoming entrance decked with pots of flowers. The spacious entrance hall has been made into a comfortable lounge, where guests are offered complimentary hors d'oeuvres and wine in the early evening. (It's also used for breakfast, which is included in the price.) Each room has its own distinctive furnishings and character. There is nothing of the 'chain' hotel here - it's a family-owned establishment which retains a tradition of personal attention and gracious hospitality. I can't recommend it too highly. And in case you're wondering how much all this old-world elegance costs - take a look at the website. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

We booked this hotel through our timeshare and all that was left were 2 double beds on the bay side for my wife and two daughters. I read the reviews here and was ready for a tight, but OK stay and nothing more. Was I ever surprised!!! When we arrived, we were greeted by a fantastic staff and told that we were upgraded to a suite on the Marina side. Definitely the room to have. I can't speak for the other rooms, but from the outside they looked comfortable. The suites are well furnished with a full refrigerator, 4-burner stove without an oven, and a decent set of kitchen utensils. The views of the Marina are fantastic, but are enough to make you jealous of the $3 MIL+ yachts moored there. The pool is clean and has a small bar poolside which is adequate but not overly large. Maid service seemed to start a bit late, but was great since we were on vacation and slept in. Our room was typically being cleaned about 3:00pm. There are some good, but pricey restaurants within walking distance, but given the clientèle and the location, this is understandable. Two hotels over, there is a place called Humphreys which holds nightly concerts. While were were there, Dana Carvey was on the first night, Emmylou Harris the next, Dolly Parton the following, and it was nice to sit on the deck of the suite and listen. Parking is well controlled by the staff so concert go'ers weren't parking at the Best Western. Plenty of local shops nearby to get small things and a larger grocery store up the street. Great access to the Beaches and Seaworld. I try and always write at least something that could be improved, but for this stay it is very difficult. When we go back to San Diego next, rather than "settling" for this hotel, we will put it in our top 5. Great value!

On 8/17/08 we came back from a stay at The Paradise Point Resort and Spa. It is an island which is a true paradise. The lush vegetation, the views of the water, the beautiful swimming pool (there is also a children's one), the fantastic spa where everybody greets you with a smile, with the most knowledgeable staff, everything makes you feel pampered. The service is impeccable. The concierge always ready to help, togive directions to restaurants, other hotels (to pick up somebody) or anything one needs. There is a great golf cart service , you can call them up on the phone and in 5 minutes they will be at your door to take you anywhere in the island (which is not small) The beds are excellent. The rooms are not spectacular, but comfortable and well provided and they are not in a big building , but just one story, divided in small "villages", which makes it cozier. Everything was wonderful .We had the most enjoyable stay(specially because our son was getting married there and it is a picture perfect place for a wedding.) We would recomend it without hesitation.

Every staff member was very friendly and helpful. Nice modern comfortable rooms (king size room was great for 1 person, may be a bit small for 2). Room had a great big flat screen tv, wireless internet, coffee pot, mini fridge and microwave - everything you needed. Great location, only 4 blocks from downtown Bellevue malls and restaurants. Great continental breakfast every morning and an outstanding wine and cheese happy hour on Tuesday nights featuring the best local wines, well worth checking in on Tuesday! An all around pleasurable experience.

have been staying at this hotel (since 1997) before it was a Red Lion. It was a Best Western. Then they remodeled and it became Red lion. Now it's a Crowne Plaza. I have never had a bad experience. They sometimes pipe in wonderful Hawaiian type music into the atrium located between two buildings. There are two large Coi Ponds with waterfalls next to a glass elevator. The Sushi Bar in the Lobby is OUTSTANDING! They used to have a drink called the Blue Lagoon.... comes with a pineapple wedge and an Umbrella. The staff is always very friendly and go out of their way to help. The rooms are super clean and I have never had a room that even needed cosmetic work. This hotel is very close to just about everthing! Minutes from Old Town, Gas Lamp Area, Trolley and only 15min from Ocean Beach! I only wish they didn't charge for parking. Seems ridiculous, just have the guard see your room key or parking permit and they wouldn't have to charge.

We had 3 adults and 1 child staying at the Hawthorne and the experience was wonderful. Our check in was competent & friendly, the day before Thanksgiving. Throughout the stay, the manager (Robert) gave us directions, information and a cheerful smile. The room was clean and HUGE, enough room for a 6-year old to stretch out! The biggest plus was 2 TVs so one could be playing cartoons or movie and the other one had football. This Inn is located centrally so we had very little travel time to Balboa, Midway and the Museums. I love it and will stay again.

We were planning a trip to Half Moon Bay and decided to find a place in Napa Valley for a couple of nights before our conference started. What a treat to find the on-line pictures of the Candlelight Inn were exactly what we saw when we arrived. But the best part for us was the personal attention provided by Wendy and Sam. They helped us with reservations, recommendations on wineries to visit and other services with enthusiasm and great energy. We lived in France for the last five years and had many opportunities to visit lovely places but found the hospitality and beautifuly calm Candlelight Inn superb. We have been telling all of our friends!

comfortable beds we slept all night, pillows were also to die for. Breakfast was very busy and the lady who drivers and does the breakfast is to be commended, she stayed on top of everything that was going on in the lobby. Check-in and out process was handled quickly and friendly. Will now stay here on our trips into Albuquerque
