As a previous flight attendant who has traveled a lot, I can say this is one of our favorite resorts in the mountains....it's soooooooo beautiful and relaxing here. The staff really aims to please. You can either veg out here, play golf on a beautiful course, go to their spa, swim indoors or out, go to their theater for a movie, or venture out and go, go, go....hike, trolley to the top of Pikes Peak, see the beautiful garden of the gods (red rock formations) etc. The spa is top notch. At first we were disappointed not to be staying in the original building that has such beautiful architecture, details that you just can't financially reproduce anymore, until we saw how close our building was to it AND we had a balcony with a view of the mountains, for one of the lowest rates ... many rooms don't have balconies in the original building and you pay more if they do. But you have to look around the original building, the paintings are beautiful. The decorator was amazing and had exquisite taste. The Sunday brunch is HUGE, a must, so delicious and lthere is lots to choose from. I loved stretching out in the lounge chairs by the lake in the evenings with a good book or conversation/cards with my husband. Our room was large, well done, and had a marble bath. Nightly service brought chocolates, turned down the bed, and set the ipod player on soothing music. As soon as we were checking out my husband was making plans to go back ,which is unusual for us as there are so many new places to see. WE HIGHLY reccommend this wonderful resort.
